Colour rendering is also known as Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and indicates the extent to which a light source reproduces colours, compared to the actual colours in daylight. Products with a good (80-89 Ra) or excellent (90-99 Ra) colour rendering show minimal deviations in the colour spectrum.

The number of lumens (lm) is the light output of a light source. The higher the number of lumens, the more light the light source emits. The Luminous Efficacy (lm/W) indicates how efficiently a light source uses energy. We divide the number of lumens by the wattage. The higher the number, the more efficient a product is in terms of energy consumption. LED lighting has a considerably higher lumen/Watt ratio than conventional lighting.

The power factor indicates how efficiently a luminaire uses electricity. The rule is: the higher the power factor, the more efficient the power consumption. A product with a high power factor (0.85 - 0.95) is also the safest. This is because the amount of unnecessary power consumption (blind current) is very limited.

The Unified Glare Rating (UGR) indicates the extent to which the light of a product is blinding. This value differs per application and must comply with European standards (EN 12464-1). A low UGR value stands for a low glare factor. For offices and schools lighting with a UGR<19 value is mandatory and for public areas UGR<22.
